Description
Acrylic board is an incredibly useful plastic for applications requiring transparency where high impact resistance is not an issue. It can be cut into extremely fine shapes using laser cutting technology because the material vaporizes upon impact with the concentrated laser energy. Acrylic thermoplastics are known for their outstanding weather ability. They are also characterized by good impact strength, formability, and excellent resistance to sunlight, weather, and most chemicals. Standard grades are rated as slow burning, but a special self-extinguishing grade of sheet is available. Although acrylic board weighs less than half as much as glass, it has many times greater impact resistance. As a thermal insulator, it is approximately 20% better than glass. It is tasteless and odorless.
Uses of Colored Acrylic Sheet
- Our high-quality acrylic sheets have very similar characteristics to colored perspex sheets, such as density, fire rating and maximum service temperature.
- Suitable for a wide variety of industries, colored acrylic sheets are also popular in point of sale displays.
- With great optical clarity and strong weather resistance, clear acrylic sheets are also an affordable alternative to glass, for use in greenhouses, sheds, as secondary glazing and in DIY projects.
- Polyflute acrylic sheets can be used in a diverse range of environments. The most common use of colored acrylic sheeting is for bathroom and kitchen splash backs.
- At Polyflute®, our acrylic boards can be processed by methods including laser cutting, CNC Cutting, Bending, Polishing, Forming, Cutting and Molding.
